I am a lawyer who provides legal services in Winnipeg, Steinbach, Beausejour, Morden, and other communities in Manitoba. My main office is located in downtown Winnipeg, and we have a satellite office in Steinbach.
I practice in the area of criminal defence, where my clients have been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada and/or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (drug offences). I am also experienced in defending charges under provincial legislation, like The Highway Traffic Act, and defending Peace Bond applications.
I have appeared in all levels of court in Manitoba: Magistrate’s Court at 373 Broadway, the Provincial Court of Manitoba, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Manitoba Court of Appeal. I have been successful in defending (or appealing) at each level of court. I have defended all types of cases, including Drive Impaireds, Assaults, Sexual Assaults, Thefts and Frauds, Break and Enters, Perjury, Firearms offences, and Drug Trafficking.
I represent both adult and youth charged with crime. If you are a youth, or you are a family member of someone who is facing criminal charges, there is a different framework and sentencing regime for prosecuting those charges, called the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

My aim as a lawyer is to give my clients the confidence and reassurance that they have chosen a competent, diligent and efficient representative for any and all charges they may face, no matter how grave the consequences may seem. I have two roles: guide and advocate.
As a guide, I am there to be a source of information and advice, for questions such as “What will happen at my first court date?” — “What are the MPI consequences if I am convicted on this charge?” — “What is the evidence against me?” You should know what to expect when you hire a lawyer at all stages of the proceedings. If you have questions, I am there to answer them quickly and thoroughly so that we are always on the same page.
As an advocate, I am there to be the one person in the room that is standing up for you, and you alone, when it seems like the world is against you. Whether it is having all of your charges dropped entirely, or your sentence carefully reduced, or presenting your case at the bail or trial stage, I will be resolutely negotiating with the Crown attorney or arguing on your behalf in front of a magistrate, judge, or justice.
If you’ve been charged with an offence, you can contact me immediately at (204) 415-5544 ext 5 to arrange a free consultation. If you, or someone you know, is currently being held in police custody, please call our 24/7 emergency line at (204) 415-5544 ext 9.
